Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois, Dr. Vallala received her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She then completed her internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. .

Dr. Vallala's father is a cardiologist and was her inspiration for becoming a doctor. She describes being a physician as an opportunity to be intellectually challenged while at the same time allowing her to connect with patients and their families at a more personal level. She appreciates the opportunity to use her skills and training to not only help patients feel better, but improve their long term outcomes as well.

Recently joining HeartCare Midwest in 2009, Dr. Vallala is a member of the American College of Cardiology

Dr. Vallala and her husband, Ajay, love to travel to new destinations and experience different cultures. In her spare time she enjoys sports, listening to music, and likes to discover new restaurants and cuisines.
