Originally from southern Illinois, Bob says his interest in cardiology developed from a desire to help people with heart problems live longer, healthier lives. He received his M.D. from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1975. Dr. Crawford then completed his internship, internal medicine residency, and cardiology fellowship at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, where he served as chief resident of internal medicine from 1977-1978.

Since joining HeartCare Midwest in 1980, Dr. Crawford has been the director of the cardiac catherization laboratory at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. He is an interventional cardiologist involved in treating both coronary and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Crawford is also a clinical assistant professor at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria and has been active in teaching and mentoring staff and medical students at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology.

Bob and his wife Debbie have four children. In his free time, he likes to golf, snow ski, and swim.
